'The cat fully knows what it is doing': Felonious Feline Locks Her Owner Out on the Balcony, Hilariously Taunts Them by Playing with the Door Handle

It becomes known to every cat owner at some point in their lives that cats… are criminals. And we mean that literally. They commit crimes. Just because the law does not cover cats' violations does not mean that they do not happen. How many times have cats stolen food off our plates with no shame? Robbery! How many times have cats broken into supermarkets to steal their wares? Breaking and entering and robbery! And when cats steal dogs beds? Emotional damage and robbery again. Can you argue against them being criminals? We cannot. 

But this cat has taken its crimes to a whole new level. Locking its owner out of the apartment, and not only that, but mocking them afterward, playing with them through the door. Sigh. Criminals they are, but goodness, they are still so cute that we could absolutely never ever be mad at them for anything that they do.

    You know, some people might find this thread and story surprising, but not us. Not cat owners. Now, we don't know if the cat knew this was going to happen or if this was just a happy coincidence. All we know is that the cat is having the time of its life.

    We just love that he keeps playing with the person's hands. This human is having a whole crisis out there, and the cat is over there, thinking that this is a new fun game for it to enjoy. Ugh, we love the chaos that cats bring. Life would never be the same without them.

    I live on the upper floor of my building and usually let my cat (Maxine) join me unless she starts trying to eat the plants or scale the screen door... this morning when I put her back inside, I closed the sliding glass door which has a locking mechanism / latch in the handle.

    Since she's seen me use it before, this morning decided to jump on top of the trash can which is next to the door and reach out to use the handle... inadvertently tripping the latch and locking me on the balcony.

    Luckily I had my phone and was only stuck outside for about thirty minutes before my building manager took my call and came through the front door of my unit to let me back inside.

Her mom had to call the police and told the cop she was deaf because she wouldn't acknowledge them and just sat there looking straight forward.
